If there were no competition, people would settle on being average because there would be no reason to do more than the minimum.
Here is what competition does for children:
- it encourages students to become independent, self-reliant, and willing to work with others.
- These traits prepare children to deal with difficult situations is the future: money, self- control, conflict, ect.
Competition is a motivator and it helps people look at things from different perspectives. Involving your child in some sort of competition will benefit him or her greatly in the long run.
